Product Description
Our licorice roots are grown on organic farms in Southern Italy and naturally contain an average of 5% glycyrrhizin content, compared to other licorice roots that can contain up to 24% glycyrrhizin.
These other licorices need to be deglycyrrhizined (DGL) because high levels of glycyrrhizin raise blood pressure. Most deglycyrrhizined licorice sold to pharmaceutical industries still contains an average of 4.5% glycyrrhizin.
